Reduce errors and speed up product development time
SOLIDWORKS CAM will allow users to program 2.5 axis parts for milling, turning, Laser, Plasma and Waterjet processes. This functionality will rely on the use of rules-based machining to allow users to take advantage of MBD tolerances applied in the SOLIDWORKS model. Knowledge Based Machining (KBM) is the foundation for streamlining the programming process – it learns as you program.
There are two ways to create features in SOLIDWORKS CAM: Automatic and Interactive. Automatic will find and create prismatic features automatically for you. You retain the flexibility to define any feature interactively using edges, faces or sketches. This flexibility allows you to quickly and easily create parametric features that update when changes are made to the model.
SOLIDWORKS CAM Standard is a free add-in to all versions of SOLIDWORKS Desktop. It was released with the launch of 2018 SOLIDWORKS SP0.
